First build as a château de plaisance for the empress Eleonora of Gonzaga in 1642, grew into a palatial imperial residence.

The Vienna Museum of Technology is a space of 22 000 square meters that offers extraordinary insights into the technical world.

From the past to the future, the extraordinary exhibits make the museum one exciting place for technological developments. The influence of technological achievements on our society, economy and culture are presented in various ways through which the visitors experience the extraordinary world of technology.

Palm House greenhouse

More than one hundred and ten meters long, the Palm House consists of one high central pavilion and two lateral pavilions. Linked by tunnel-like passages, the pavilions are within different climatic zones: here the cold of the north meets the tropical zone with a temperate central area so you can experience the wonder of our own planet’s climate.
